Michael Cartwright gives TEDx Talk on the Art of the Frontman

Trumpeter, vocalist and Thornton alum Michael Cartwright (’07) recently gave a TEDx Talk in Bismarck about the art of the frontman. In his talk, he discussed the three responsibilities that must be maintained by anyone who desires to become an effective frontman.

“You have the charisma. Hold responsibility to yourself — master your craft. Hold responsibility to your team — showcase their talents. Hold responsibility to your audience and take ownership of your results. This is the art of the frontman,” said Cartwright.

Cartwright is the current music director for the LA-based variety dance band Project M and the creator of FrontmanTalk, a coaching and advice forum for musicians who want to improve their live performances.
